Google Mail

.

Dear Subscriber

show-me.net is pleased to announce that we have transitioned our mail and portal services to Google Apps. Google Apps will allow you to communicate over the Internet more effectively and will provide you with more web mail space. Please note that only people with show-me.net email addresses have been moved to Google. This change will not impact any aspect of your Internet connection.

To ease the transition, you will continue to be able to access your mail from the legacy show-me.net mail servers. However, we strongly encourage you to transition to Google Apps immediately. The legacy show-me.net mail servers will be shut down on Sept. 9th. Please note that there are several changes that need to be made that will allow your system to access mail via Google. We strongly encourage you to make these changes immediately to avoid any downtime.

The changes are as follows:

Webmail

You can access your mail via Google on the web at http://webmail.show-me.net .The current web mail URL of https://webmail.safepages.com is pointed to the old mail server. Mail will be delivered to both the old mail server and the Google mail servers until September 9th. Your contacts that existed on the old mail server have already been ported over to the Google Mail service. We encourage you to start accessing your mail via Google immediately. By using the webmail interface provided by Google, you will have 6.5 GB of storage space. This is over 100 times the space than before.

Do you want to setup a message forward, vacation message or auto responder? All these feature and much more can be setup or enabled. Enable these features by visiting our proprietary help center: http://show-me.net/google/ Simply click on the "Google Migration FAQ's" page and then view the links listed under "Gmail Features".

Password

Over the last few weeks, we have sent several communications requesting you to change your password so it is at least eight characters. If your password is less than eight characters, we have appended the word password to the end of your password. For example, if my password was john the password was changed to johnpassword. This is the password that you will need to enter in order to access your mail via Google. If wish to change your password, you can do so by going to https://ems.safepages.com/EMailChanger.pl

POP Mail

With the extra storage space, it is no longer necessary for you to access all of your mail using an Email client (Outlook, Outlook Express, Apple Mail, Entourage, Thunderbird, etc). While this option is still available to you, you will need to change your email client settings in order to for your client to work with Google.

For Windows Outlook, Outlook Express, and Windows Mail (Vista) users, you can simply download a configuration client at: http://www.show-me.net/google/configclients.html . For other email clients and for Macintosh users, you can find step by step instructions, there are step by step instructions located at http://www.show-me.net/google/configclients.html .

For assistance in setting up your email client for Google, please contact us at: 573-223-7511.

Access via your PDA or Mobile Phone

With Google mail for mobile, you can access your mail account from your mobile phone. Just enter http://webmail.show-me.net in your phone's web browser to log into your account.

Other Google Features

On top of a new mail service and portal, you now have a built in Chat program in web mail that allows you to instant message everyone in your address book. There are also links to the Google 'Calendar' or 'Documents' links in the upper left corner. You can gain direct access to those products without signing in again.

There are many more features to explore, so we encourage you to go to the Google Apps Help Center located at http://www.google.com/support/a/users

We hope you enjoy your new Google Apps email account!

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this change, please let us know. We are interested in getting your feedback.

Sincerely,
